Turkey Rampage

As we near the Holiday that calls for a turkey tradition, let us reflect on the millions of turkeys that will be slaughtered to satisfy our Holiday tradition. We don't really blink about a headline that talks about the number of turkeys that will be killed for our tables. That is unless the turkey was a pet!

It seems that a pet turkey decided to avenge his dead brothers and went haywire on the family that cared for him. Escaping from his pen, he attacks the dog first, then turns his attention on his caregivers. The attacks prompted the family to call the sheriff, that had no choice but to shoot the rampaging turkey!

Now if a cop had to shoot the critter, it must have been very aggressive. Turkeys can be aggressive especially during mating season. Yet, there are still those who would call the family "Turkey Killers!"

It is obvious that they miss both the facts and the irony of Thanksgiving!

Adulthood Redefined

When did adolescence go beyond the age of 18 years?  I know what you're saying. Adolescence goes beyond 19, 20, and sometimes even beyond 40. But for the most part, we are declared "adults" at 18 years old. You can even argue that true adulthood is reached at 21 because that's when you can publicly intoxicate yourself with alcohol!

Well, the psychological community has declared that 25 is the new adulthood.

"My experience of young people is that they still need quite a considerable amount of support and help beyond that age."

Yes, it is true. While we believe we are getting smarter, the opposite is true. We rely on computers to tell us what to do.

Love Shacks

If you go to Switzerland, make sure you choose the right shelter to dodge in if you need to. The Swiss have decided to open 'sex boxes' to make prostitution safer. They are built and opened for the sole purpose for men to have sex with prostitutes.

The 'boxes' advertise condoms, safe sex and aids prevention. These boxes are also to apparently rid Switzerland of pimps as prostitutes in danger can activate an alarm for help. These boxes are strictly auto drive-thru so pedestrians and bikers are out of luck. Ironic if you think about it, because a car is a shelter in itself!

The madness behind this operation is to rid residential areas of hookers. Men in Switzerland who proposition prostitutes in non-prostitute zones can face hefty fines. Switzerland has legal prostitution for the most part, and why not, prostitution is taxed!

The Dope

Calling the cops about illegal activity is always a plus. Not so much if it is you that are engaging in illegal activity. Then again, going through life young, stoned, dumb and clueless will never end well.

If criminals break-in and steal your safe, aside from finding a different way to hide valuables, you will want to call the police. That would suffice to be put on the lookout for from law enforcement. As Richard Pryor once said, "...have a Coke and a smile and shut the BEEP up!" This would have been what this 19 year-old should have done.

Instead, he confesses his illegal activity, seeing that his employment is as a drug dealer. He admitted that the safe contained money and drugs!

As miracles do occur, the police were successful in recovering this man's safe. All he had to do was come and identify it and it was his. He came, he saw and he conquered as he identified his safe that he confessed had his money and marijuana and he was a dealer.

So needless to say that Officer K9 was waiting, and upon sniffing the safe, alerted the police to the "drugs" in the safe. The good news is that he did pay the $3000 bond, but he won't be going home with his safe!

The Practice The Preacher and Peta

Peta has finally been caught with their true colors shining. In a "do as I say..." double standard Peta is in a pickle. How dare they claim to be against animal rights, when they themselves KILL ANIMALS!(note: separate links)

How dare they tell me that fish are sea kittens and try to turn us all into vegetarians by using semi-nude sexy women to prove their hypocrisy? We have the proof of their hypocrisy. So what is their excuse? The animals were rescued in such bad shape they had to be euthanized. Thank goodness that GOD PETA can decide who lives and dies because they are Peta and you're not.

So next time Peta comes and tells you meat is murder, tell them they can't dictate THEIR double-standards to you. PETA is a HYPOCRITE!!!!

I will continue to dine on the fine products that come from all edible animals excluding pork. In the name of Peta, I will not eat pork, because I deem it the unhealthiest of meats...not because Peta says so! They justify their hypocrisy by saying other shelters do it. But other shelters don't give a rat's arse about animal rights, because ANIMALS DON"T HAVE RIGHTS!!!!

This entry has obviously been brought to you by the letter "P", now excuse me for my bathroom break!

The Power Of Beer

Beer has brought many people together for good times. I was well aware of these facts. What people may not know is that Samuel Adams led the Boston tea party! Ironically the idea came to him in a pub, which explains why tea was booted and not beer!

Whether you know it or not, amazing things have happened with beer!

Of course we must never forget the shame of the Prohibition. This brought out her and him. That led to this.

Nobody's Hero

A crash without casualties is pretty much a winning situation. When there is a heroic deed, the media and citizens take notice. When the hero is 8 years old, well it is a feel good story. When the child has to swim ashore from the river, walk barefoot for a mile to tell his mother to call 911 to save his trapped father, well I can just feel the tears to this soon to be a made-for-TV movie!

So what reward does this little hero get? He gets taken away from his parents by the Child Protective Services of the great state of Massachusetts! The crime apparently is being out so late with your child and possibly speeding.

It truly seems as if the IQ of today's society is on a free fall to stupidity. It's a sorry excuse when red tape and political correctness are taken to an extreme!

Lives Of Cheaters

Apparently, your wife or girl friend is  cheating if she is shopping at Banana Republic! This from a survey at a site for cheating!

Well it has come down to being able to find anything on the internet that caters to every lifestyle on earth.

The Ritchie Rich Guide To Hiking Essentials

Apparently to the rich and wealthy, hiking essentials seem to cost as much as a sophisticated safari. Who requires $170 sunglasses for a hike? A chair for $100, $350 shoes, and it still gets ridiculous. Now you need to make your Starbucks Latte for a cost of $241!!!

Hiking is beneficial for your health, but if your spending over $200 for essential hiking gear, well...

The Lying Polygraph

The results of your lie detector tests are that the polygraph lied. Imagine that. A glitch in a widely used polygraph, may have labeled the truthful liars and the guilty innocent.

The manufacturer, Lafayette Instrument Co. Inc., downplays the problem, although it can't say how often it happens. The glitch came from the computerized measurements of sweat on a suspect. Makes you just want to trust the judicial system and wonder how many innocent people are serving time over some glitch!

The Tasty Solution

Although I have never heard of it, there is something called bovine TB, that can be cause tuberculosis in humans. If you read the part about the United Kingdom, you will get a taste for this entry!

From the article:

United Kingdom [edit]

In the 1930s, 40% of cattle in the UK were infected with M. bovis and there were 50,000 new cases of human M. bovis infection every year.[12] According to DEFRA and the Health Protection Agency, the risk to people contracting TB from cattle in Great Britain today is very low. The HPA has said that three-quarters of the 440 human cases reported to the HPA between 1994 and 2006 were aged 50 years and above and only 44 cases (10%) were known to be non-UK born.
Badgers (Meles meles) were first identified as carriers of M. bovis 30 years ago, but the report of an independent review committee in 1997 concluded badgers made an important contribution to the spread of M. bovis between herds of cattle.[13] This was the major cause of the current battle between animal conservationists (keen to save the badger) and farmers (keen to cull badgers, to reduce livestock losses). The Randomised Badger Culling Trial [14] (designed, overseen and analysed by the Independent Scientific Group on Cattle TB, or ISG [15]) was a large field trial of widescale (proactive) culling and localised reactive culling (in comparison with areas which received no badger culling). In their final report,[16] the ISG concluded: "First, while badgers are clearly a source of cattle TB, careful evaluation of our own and others’ data indicates that badger culling can make no meaningful contribution to cattle TB control in Britain. Indeed, some policies under consideration are likely to make matters worse rather than better. Second, weaknesses in cattle testing regimes mean that cattle themselves contribute significantly to the persistence and spread of disease in all areas where TB occurs, and in some parts of Britain are likely to be the main source of infection. Scientific findings indicate that the rising incidence of disease can be reversed, and geographical spread contained, by the rigid application of cattle-based control measures alone." On 26 July 2007, the Minister of State, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Lord Rooker) said "My Lords, we welcome the Independent Scientific Group’s final report, which further improves the evidence base. We are carefully considering the issues that the report raises, and will continue to work with industry, government advisers and scientific experts in reaching policy decisions on these issues."[17]
In the UK, many other mammals have been found to be infected with M. bovis, although the frequency of isolation is generally much less than cattle and badgers. In some areas of South-West England, deer, especially fallow deer due to their gregarious behaviour, have been implicated as a possible maintenance host for transmission of bovine TB,[18][19] a disease which in the UK in 2005 cost £90 million in attempts to eradicate...

You now can get an idea about the brilliant solution to get rid of bovine TB.  If you can't beat them, EAT THEM! Since badgers are the major culprits, why not come up with tasty recipes. From the folks who eat blood pudding made from pig blood, the only real solution is to eat the potential carrier. Brilliant!

This is a Darwin ready to happen.

No Homeless Allowed

If you have a business near a homeless encampment chances are there is bound to be trouble. The bums, er, ah, the homeless may hang around and sleep, while using your parking lot as a toilet. Apparently, someone has found a way to keep the homeless off their property. All it takes is discarded tombstones of deceased people.

A man in Texas built a fake graveyard. It worked like a charm as the homeless refuse to loiter. All I've got to say is...BRILLIANT!

The Over-Hopping Of BEER!

I'm a craft beer drinker from the start of this century and millennium. I often will buy from my local crafters, but love exploring a variety of brews, sometimes from around the world. I am not a Lite beer drinker, and can't understand the fascination with it, as Lite beer drinkers still have beer bellies!

I prefer beers that have a malt or yeast dominance and believe that the bitter hop taste should be a lightly lingering after taste. Instead today most craft beer brewers are adding an overkill of hops to their beers. The most famous of hop beers are the IPAs(Indian Pale Ales), which were over hopped for a reason. When the British soldiers and others were colonizing India in the 18th century, the extra hops helped preserve the beer and its flavors for the long trip. At the time it took them around the Cape of Good Hope and the trip wrecked havoc on their porters.

Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy hop beers from time to time, but in most the hop bitterness is overwhelming. There are some, Pale Ales and IPAs, that are evenly balanced, but most are hopped more than they need. They truly leave a bitter taste in your mouth, and makes any palate for most foods null and void.

I have no intention of quitting Pales and IPAs, because like I said, I do enjoy them. I also know the ones that fit my craving at the time without an overpowering hop bitterness. What I am noticing myself is that there are many crafted porters, stouts, imperial stouts, and yeast beers(such as the Belgian varieties) are leaning more towards hops than malts and yeasts.

I would really hate to go to the mass produced commercialized beers that only serve the purpose of  getting you drunk, but good beer should be balanced in my opinion.

The Enemy Within

In my lifetime, I've had a number of jobs. Some were part-time and some were short lived. The first job I ever had was that of a paperboy. It lasted for a couple of years and supplemented my allowance allowing me to buy "stuff" I otherwise couldn't afford.

My parents and I went to live in Italy and my next job was in a foreign land. I was a waiter and bartender. I also worked in grocery stores and a toilet paper factory in the depressed south. When I returned I worked part-time in the loading docks of a department store as I attended college. From there I worked in a dental lab where dentures, partials, bridges and crowns were made.

In the years that Reagan was president I was unemployed for the most part. Eventually, I found what I thought was the perfect job. Working for a rental car company picking up their cars that have made their way to other locations. I travelled the entire northeast and Canada and made good money doing so. Needless to say since there were abuses in the system, the pay changed and the out of town trips became few and far between.

So I moved into the rental car ranks as a service vehicle attendant which is a fancy way of saying a person who cleans and services rental cars. It wasn't a hard job, but didn't pay well and seniority would give you undesirable work hours and days off.

Then I became a civil servant for a local municipality. Better pay and better benefits would lead me on a journey where office politics and drama come to life. Although one may say that I should put my resume' elsewhere, this is not about the jobs but rather about office politics and drama  From  a small southern Italian town to an airport where everybody knows everyone, it is all about workplace drama.

Drama in the workplace leads to gossip and backstabbing. That's where the journey begins.

To be continued...

What Was She Thinking?

Maybe it's our fascination with vampires, thanks largely to the Twilight series, or maybe it was a momentary lapse of reason. Then again, maybe it was just plain stupidity. A kindergarten teacher in Norway goes to her doctor appointment and asks for a vial of her blood. The blood was goinng to be used for show and tell.

She poured the blood in a dish and had the children pass it around. When asked if they can touch it she said yes. When asked how they can take it off, she put her finger in her mouth and the children did the same. .

Needless to say she was immediately terminated, but one really has to wonder what was she thinking?

WTC Drug Ring

It would seem that nothing is sacred anymore. It seems that the Port Authority, busted three construction workers selling drugs at the World Trade Center site. They were selling their drugs to other construction workers and were uinder investigation for the past six months.

This is a restart of this blog and is meant as a test.
